I'm a poet earning a living as a technical writer. My job will be outsourced to Bangkok in the first quarter of 2007 and I'll be switching careers. I earned an MFA in poetry from the University of Iowa's Writer's Workshop. I also have an M.A. in Computer Resources, an M.A. in English and a Bachelor's in Journalism. (What do I get if I collect the whole set?)
I'm 57. Divorced. No children. A Gemini. I live in the St. Louis area. I own and moderate the Joseph Campbell Mythology Group on Yahoo.
Much of the "spontaneous" writing from my journal has been turned into poetry. It is available on a CD from One Dot One publications.
I'm a Zen/Taoist. I sit zazen at least two times a week at the zendo.
I own the copyright to any poems I publish here. Some have previously appeared in literary journals. Trying to take them and use them without permission would not be wise. Just ask. With proper acknowledgement, I have no problem with my poems being reprinted elsewhere. Poets write poems, after all, to have them read and to touch people. However, infringing on work or stealing it is not nice and will be punished. |
